Introducing Heather from Bogobrush - a sustainable, design aware, biodegradable toothbrush.






Tell me a little about Bogobrush? 

My brother, John, and I started Bogobrush because we want to do our part to help bring more environmental and social awareness into people's daily lives. What better way than through a toothbrush - something we all (should) use morning and night! Bogobrush is beautifully designed, and made in the U.S. from recycled materials and can be recycled or composted when it's use is done. Plus, for every brush we sell, we donate to organizations across the country to support healthy communities


Your personal favourite product you sell?

My favourite is the naked biodegradable bogobrush.


What's your future vision for Bogobrush?

In the near term, we are creating a full collection of oral care products for your entire family. Stay tuned to us on social media, or sign up for our newsletter, to hear about our upcoming launches this fall! New materials, colours, and products. In the longer term, we hope to draw inspiration from our community of donations and supporters to determine which products need to be designed next.


How would you describe your dream lifestyle?

I believe in a world that is vibrant and balanced, and we get there by letting curiosity connect us so we can learn and grow together. I want to connect and travel around the world to bring Bogobrush and the other creative skills and talents we have on our team to communities around the world. By connecting with these people and communities, we can make impact and learn other ways we can impact the planet! 

Personally, I'm building my lifestyle to support that work. I am curious to have a few home bases around the world where I can spend a couple months at a time, connecting with people I've met, and growing those networks. I want to continue eating clean, sustainable food, choosing transportation that doesn't emit greenhouse gas, spending time in nature and fresh air, joining community music and theater, and spending time with my husband and family doing it all. 


Would you rather have an unlimited free international plane ticket for life or be able to eat at any restaurant you like for free for ever?

International plane ticket. Without a doubt.


Favourite box set?

I've paused a bit to answer this. My interest in watching shows is diverse, but in spurts. And right now, shows are one of the ways I turn off my brain, relax, or find uplifting inspiration. A few things I have on the background and repeat are British Baking Challenge and World's Most Extraordinary Homes. Last weekend, I binge watched a bunch of Project Runway - first time I'd seen any of those shows. I'm a bit late to most scenes of shows. 


If you could start out again what would you do?

Nothing different. Life is full of choices, ups, and downs. I don't believe everything happens on a charted out course of fate, but I do believe that if we make our choices with the best of our ability at any given time, we'll be led to our true Self and our calling. I trust this and therefore don't have regrets. And, the curiosities I have about life and interests are things I work toward. Some of those curiosities include growing my life as a global citizen (I've already lived around the U.S. and in the Middle East,) doing more a  musician and performer, partnering with clothing design (sustainable fashion,) and being open to new opportunities. All in due time with focus, intention, and patience.


From what you know about Impulse, what are you looking forward to most?

As a brand, we haven't interacted a lot, yet, with Impulse. Right now, Impulse is beautiful imagery, and a great mission.   I will be excited to see how this can grow and what insights we can provide as we do!


Can you recommend who we interview next?

Do you know With My Goods? They make a vegan, lemonade flavoured toothpaste. Or DAO hair products? They make responsible hair products and support positive body image for people, particularly with ethnic diversity. Or The Lip Bar? They make vegan lip colour and promote healthy body image.
