We take some time to ask some Qs and connect with some of our brand new peeps that have joined the Impulse family.

Introducing Chanette from Jukserei - A Berlin based, Danish Jewellery brand creating personal and timeless pieces with love.

Tell me a little about Jukserei?

I started Jukserei in 2012 next to my full time job as a women’s fashion designer in Berlin. I was motivated to make sterling silver nickel free jewelry because of my nickel allergy. When I was younger, the restrictions concerning the content of nickel in jewelry were not as strict as today. When people started asking to buy the jewelry I made, it was definitely a big motivator and a push I needed to start up the a business of my own. Now 5 years later, looking back at that time when I was working jewelry night-shifts in between my day-job to make my dream come true, it was all worth it!

The team and I strive to keep Jukserei as down to earth as possible because I like to get my pieces to the customers with the most personal connection. Hopefully this leaves them with an impression of who is behind the jewelry: Real people, real love. Everything we create is designed in Berlin and handmade in Italy by an Italian family business with refined know-how skills. We are working closely with them and I am very proud we are able to keep our production in the beating jewelry-heart of Europe.

Your personal favourite product you sell?

Right now it is our hair accessories which I wear every day at the moment. It saves any bad hair day!

What's your future vision for Jukserei?

I want to continue push the boundaries of jewelry design. We now added hair jewelry to our portfolio and sweater jewelry (pins) and I would love to continue to blur the lines more between slow fashion & jewelry.

Additionally at the moment we sell the jewelry through our online shop and have regular pop-up shops in Berlin so that our customers can see and feel and try on the things that we make. So I would love for us to open up a real physical store in Berlin, in my home country of Denmark, and in more cities throughout the world!

How would you describe your dream lifestyle?

Anywhere with my family and a housekeeper, a gardener and a cook :-)

Would you rather look after 100 tiny horses OR 1 giant duck?

Hmmm, I would say the 100 tiny horses! My son would love to play with them and I love the challenge.

Favourite box set?

Right now I am addicted to  the American version of “The Office”. I like black humour, probably cause I’m a Dane.

If you could start out again what would you do?

I would have asked my grandmother more questions about the past.

From what you know about Impulse, what are you looking forward to most?

For a shop, that would be to be able to custom design or choose which pics can be shown and which not. To re-arrange the portfolio as well.

Can you recommend who we interview next?

Marin et Marine and Weasel Wardrobe.

Thanks Chanette.

For those interested, we are running this brand new interview series to get to know as many Stores or Brands as possible. If you'd also like the chance to take part, showcase your stores personality, and forever get a pretty spot on the blog, drop me an email - jamie@weareimpulse.co - and we'll get it done.
