Tip: How To Choose Your Cover Photo
Positioned at the top of your personal profile pages, Impulse cover photos take a relatively unique shape and are the perfect opportunity to display your personality. Before you make the decision to upload an awesome cover photo, we have a few top tips that should help you ensure your decision is perfect:
Large Images Make Great Images
Due to their unique shape, if you intend to upload a cover photo they must (at the very least) have the following dimensions: 1920 x 300 pixels. This means that the cover photos normally found on Facebook or Twitter are unlikely to work on Impulse. You may choose images larger than these dimensions (e.g. by searching for desktop wallpaper/background photos), but note that the platform will crop the centre of the image to ensure it fits on the platform:
Abstract Is Cool
At Impulse we pride ourselves on being a little different and you should too. Some of the coolest cover photos on Impulse are a little abstract. It is not necessary to find an image that perfectly fits the space, but make sure it looks clean and represents your image. Have a peek at Tribe Bicycle Co’s awesome cover photo choice:
As you would expect, the best cover photos are always high quality. In a previous blog post we wrote about our focus on creating a platform that remains psychologically pleasing to our users and the importance of posting product images that maintains that vibe. The same can be said for our cover photos. Keep them simple, beautiful, and high quality.
To get you started we have provided a few example cover photos that you can save and upload to your profile. The first example image, provided below, is the default cover photo that you get when you first come on to the platform. So if you ever decide that you want to put that back on your profile then it is available for you to do so…
